As a young girl growing up on the Navajo Reservation, I remembered helping my grandmother gather and dry the Navajo Tea plant. This herbal tea was then shared and enjoyed by all who stopped by her home. Its mild taste and soothing flavor made the effort to harvest it worthwhile.
It looks like we are definitely in a recession. Since Navajos are experienced at living off of next to nothing, we probably will not be affected much. My Grandmother could survive on nothing but potatoes and flour for months!
